My New Love.

V. V. Brown is one of the new artist that I have completely fell in love with. While researching more info about this talented artist, I found out some things.

"Track by track, the insanely singable, danceable and memorable songs of TRAVELLING LIKE THE LIGHT claim V V’s personal and artistic turf among the most gifted of today's singer-songwriters, and even suggest the career peaks of the young Bette Midler and comeback-era Tina Turner. As the songwriter and co-producer of her own music, it's impossible to miss V V’s deep appreciation of pop, soul and rock music's breadth, stretching from the very foundation grooves of rock-and-roll, to the kinds of video-game and analog synth sounds that turned up in 80s hip-hop and the post-2K crunk."

"Although V V has been heard to call her mix a “musical mashed potatoes,” betraying her unassuming side, the truth is that with TRAVELLING LIKE THE LIGHT, she does justice to a long tradition of strong, individual female voices that have had the power to define their times -- Alicia Keys and Amy Winehouse, prominent among V V's immediate inspirations. Since the European release of her album in mid-2008, V V has left an exciting visual trail of official video clips and fan-posted television, online, and festival appearances all over the cybersphere. In all of these, she's an absolutely luminous presence, vocally, visually and creatively."

Below are a couple of videos from this amazing woman. Expect more this entire month on V. V. Brown

Christina Perri

Chrsitina Perri is a new artist I found myself drawn too. I chaught her video on Thanksgiving morning while at my aunt’s house, and I fell in love with her. Her look and style is something fresh for our eyes. The song Jar of Hearts was featured on So You Think You Can Dance during the June 30, 2010 show. It was featured in performance by Billy Bell and Kathryn McCormick. Perri's friend Keltie Colleen passed the song to show choreographer Stacey Tookey; Perri and Colleen watched the performance in the audience. Following its exposure on the show, "Jar of Hearts" sold 48,000 digital copies, debuting on the Billboard Hot 100 at #63 and reaching #28 on Billboard's Hot Digital Songs. Within a month, it sold more than 100,000 copies. Then, her music video for "Jar of Hearts" landed on the VH1 top 20 music video countdown.

The Colors of Women.

I had the pleasure to see this amazing movie, For Colored Girls last night with my brothers. I am not even going to front, tears formed in my eyes from the truths these individual women went through.

I am so honored and proud of this all start cast and Mister Tyler Perry, for directing/producing/writing this wonderful movie. I feel that Mister Perry grew from his usual movies he does, showing he can do more.

I give it two thumbs up.

You got a light?

Recently, I have been watching back to back episodes of Mad Men. Besides the twisting plot, I was captured by the elegantly placed style of the male cast. John Slattery and Jon Hamm reigned supreme in tailored 3 piece suits, crisp dress shirts, with a brim hat to match. The stylist, Janie Bryant, is packing it in and serving you guys up with vintage style in modern fits. Note to the business majors and business-minded people, this is what you should be looking like in the office. Impressions are everything! It makes me so damn excited to be able to look like this every single day soon. Donald Draper and Roger Sterling are impressionable men, not only by their smoothly aggressive tone, but by their smack-in-the-face style.

My Crew.

Just another day shooting.

Runway Walkers.

Recently, I have discovered that I love the runway, fashion runway. I am starting to come into my own, as far as career life. I was asked by my good friend Jill to come to Infinite Appeal's fashion show rehearsal. I attended the practice but wasn't impressed. Sad but true.

Everyone meet Abita Newsome.

The Face of Heybandgeeks.com

In Atlanta everyone believe that they are models, having a cute face and somewhat toned body doesn't make a model. I have encounter a couple of people that I believe have the makings to be a rising model. Meet Tavaya Davis, graduate of GSU and FACE of Heybandgeeks.com.

I met her about a year ago, at the Infinite Appeal show. She quickly caught my eye. We exchanged contact, but never worked together until now. Once I got her in front of the camera, magic formed. I count it a privilege to have work and continue to work with this rising model. Be on the look out for her on this site and around Atlanta.
